The great Bay of Georgioupolis in Western Crete is particularly beautiful, and these two attached and newly built modern villas are set high on a hillside, offering wonderful panoramic sea views across the bay. The villas are situated about 1,5 km outside of the old traditional village of Episkopi, 7 km east of the beachside village of Georgioupolis, and 12 km west of Rethymnon town.

Each villa has its own 32sqm swimming pool with Jacuzzi jets, set in private gardens, and each has a built in stone BBQ and childrens' play area. Along with a washing machine and a dishwasher, each villa has the additional modern facilities of a Satellite TV, Stereo, and DVD with home cinema. The living room areas of each villa open onto sun terraces offering superb views across the surrounding countryside to the sea.

A) Villa Avra is 105sqm in size and with three bedrooms is suitable for 6-8 people.

On the ground floor there is an open plan living /dining room with a fireplace and a sofa bed, a bedroom with twin beds and en suite shower/WC, a simple WC, and a well equipped kitchenette. A camp bed can be added in the living room for the 8th person. On the first floor there are a further two bedrooms, one with twin beds and one with a double bed. All first floor bedrooms have air conditioning (extra local charge) and are en suite with a shower/WC.

B) Villa Pyrgos is 120sqm in size and with four bedrooms is suitable for 8-10 people.

The ground floor is laid out in the same manner as Villa Avra. However, there are three bedrooms on the first floor, two twin bedrooms, and one double bedroom, all with air conditioning (extra local charge) and all en suite with a shower/WC.

There are a few tavernas and shops in Episkopi, with a larger choice in both Georgioupolis and Rethymnon. The long sand and shingle beach with tamarisk trees, which lies within view of the villas, across the coastal road, can be reached on foot, approx 200 metres downhill, or by car about 900 metres. Interesting outings could include nearby Kournas, Crete's only lake, and the pretty village of Argyroupoli with its impressive ancient springs. Car hire is recommended.
