Villa Despina is a recently built two storey, 4 bedroom villa with a swimming pool positioned 1 km from each of the little villages of Assomatos and Lefkogia in the mountainous area of southern Crete.

The villa (180sqm) is suitable for 10-12 people, and sits within 10,000sqm groves of olive and fruit trees, with attractive surrounding gardens of 2,000sqm, and a shady vine covered terrace. The pool is 40sqm in size with a children's pool, and further facilities include a BBQ, and a play area for children.

The open plan ground floor has a living room with a double sofa bed, Satellite TV, Radio/CD player, and leading off this there is a fully equipped kitchenette and dining area. There are two ground floor bedrooms, one with a double bed and one with twin beds, and two bathrooms, one with a corner bath/shower/WC and washing machine, and one with a shower/WC.

On the first floor there are a further two bedrooms, each with one double bed and a single bed, and a further two showers/WC. All of the bedrooms open up to either a balcony or sun terrace with patio furniture, offering a variety of views over the glorious surrounding countryside, the Kourtaliotis gorge, all the way to the sea.

All bedrooms have air conditioning (extra local charge), two of them have a TV and three come with a little fridge. For cooler spells the house is also equipped with central heating (extra local charge). In the basement of the villa there is an apartment occupied by the owner, who is away at work during the day.

The nearest beaches are at Ammoudi approximately 2 km away, and Shoinaria with its diving centre is just 3 km away. Further beaches can be found at Preveli and Damnoni, each 5 km away, and at Plakias at approx 6 km distance. The nearest taverna is approx 50 metres away, and a small selection of little shops and tavernas can be found in the villages of Assomatos and Lefkogia, with a wider variety of all tourist amenities in the coastal town of Plakias. A car is essential.
