The peaceful and pretty village of Skines in Western Crete, approx 14 km from Chania, is the setting for this attractively designed country villa, with its tall stone chimney and terracotta tiled roof.

The villa is approx 120sqm in size, positioned within grounds of 1300sqm, and has well tended gardens, with spacious sun terraces. A 36sqm swimming pool will be ready for the 2004 season.

Villa Skine has two double bedrooms, and two double sofa beds, so is suitable for between 4-8 people. On the ground floor there is an airy open plan living/dining area, with French doors to the sun terraces, a kitchenette and guest WC.

The living area has an open fireplace, TV, CD Stereo, dining table/chairs, and two comfortable big sofas. The kitchenette is large, well equipped, and has a dishwasher.

A handsome open staircase (without railing) leads to the upper floor to two well furnished bedrooms with double beds, wooden floors and wooden beamed ceilings, and to a lobby area, and shower/WC. Both bedrooms have access to a large sun terrace with splendid far reaching views across to the majestic White Mountains.

Further facilities at the villa include a BBQ, a safety deposit box, a washing machine, and ironing equipment. Central heating is available for cooler spells (extra local charge).

There are a number of tavernas in the village, while a beautiful sandy beach, and a wide selection of shops and tavenas can be found at the tourist resort of Platanias, which at 12 km distance is approx a 10-15 minute drive away.

The mountain village of Omalos and the entrance to the Samaria Gorge is 26 km away. This is a lovely spot, a short drive from Chania, yet peacefully positioned in a small village setting with glorious surrounding countryside.
