Kombo Beach 3.5 grade Kotu
This was my home whilst in The Gambia and is a great mid-range hotel with a fabulous beachfront location. It’s a lively hotel with activities and entertainment throughout the day and evening. The rooms are fairly basic but there are plenty of room upgrades available. Kombo has a great atmosphere and by the end of my trip I had grown to love it.

Senegambia 3.5 grade Kololi
If you want a mid-range hotel with lots of bars and restaurants on your doorstep then this is your place. It is situated on the beach as well as having an impressive beachside pool and bar in addition to a second swimming pool. It is the largest and one of the best-known hotels in The Gambia.

Mandina Lodges Unique – Makasutu Forest

I was blown away by these lodges and the surrounding area, it is truly stunning. These striking riverside lodges offer an unforgettable experience in the wilderness with the chance to discover the people and wildlife of The Gambia that have made the forest their home. The lodges have won a place in the book ‘1001 Escapes To Make Before You Die’.

Ngala Lodge Boutique Hotel – Bakau/Fajara

This small intimate hotel is very popular perhaps because of its child-free policy but more so because of its unique suites, beautiful gardens and outstanding cuisine. If it’s a hotel-based holiday you prefer, this hotel should suit. This hotel is set on a beautiful stretch of sandy beach and located in Banjul away from the majority of tourist hotels. Rooms here are based on an all-inclusive basis.
